Ikea: added to the 'proscribed' list
Maybe it is something to do with the Thurrock branch being in that hateful hellhole of a county, Essex (motto: a model for the nation and sure to disappoint), but any notion of customer service seems to have gone out of the window. All that is required is for someone to telephone, as they have promised to do, to make an appointment to measure for a kitchen. Very simple. The kitchens are well made, the designs attractive, the money in the bank waiting to be spent. But will someone telephone - despite repeated requests, pleading, cajoling, begging - to make the wished-for measuring up appointment? Apparently not. Now losing the will to live at the thought of further rigmarole going through the Ikea call centre, the direct lines to the store having been disconnected. Damn. Should have gone to John "Yes Sir, No Sir, Three Bags Full, Sir" Lewis and had done with it. May yet. Lady Valence won't put up with trying to light a cooking fire in the very unfitted kitchen for much longer. Buggeration.
