This Sir Fred stuff is getting very interesting. Can it possibly be right that "every legal means at our disposal" is brought to bear on one person who, inconveniently, has got a rather good pension? Is the law not supposed to be applied evenly in order to stop it appearing to be misused or does G Brown no longer care about upholding binding contracts if they make his Govt appear both impotent and incompetent?
Or, to cut to the chase, one Scots **** has got the better of another Scots **** and the second Scots **** can't bear it. Desk-thumping, screaming, nasty briefings... and all the time the day when some poor Govt minion has to admit that nothing can be done comes closer. This will end in total humiliation - it can't end any other way - and is a demonstation of reckless and desperate politics. Very, very bad indeed.
