III) John "aka Jack working-class affectation" Straw on Today a few minutes ago bragging that the Govt had managed to create 25,000 additional prison places in 12 years - up from 60,000 to 85,000. It seems that the so-called titan prisons may not go ahead, but the Justice Sec seemed quite chipper and confident that more prison places could be conjured up. More? Should the question not be why is our small nation in decline slithering towards locking up 100,000 souls? They can't all be in there for public protection. No. Nasty, punitive, small-minded and wrong. A national disgrace in fact.
