The Normans and the Angevins just about wrapped up. Most enjoyable. Doing nothing now until the autumn then plan courses on 18th century London and Emperor Justinian. That takes things up to summer of next year, 120 CAT points and Cert of Higher Ed. And beyond that? Don't know, can't see far enough ahead.

The Honourable Blonde seems already - on exams taken thus far and coursework - to have three A* GCSEs tucked under her belt. Triple science. There are papers to sit in the summer but she would have to muck them up completely to drop a grade. She has and does work hard but there is a slight worry that exams are getting easier - don't express it as don't want to undermine either child: Lucifer on course for triple science A*s too. The B then announced at the weekend that she wants to read science at Cambridge - before all this stuff about Cantab upping the grades and, this morning, vice chancellors wanting to pump up tuition fees. Nothing wrong with aiming high, but have a plan B was Sir Compton's well-meaning advice.
